Dragons named presenting partner for 2025 Healthier Illawarra Men International Men’s Day Lunch
St George Illawarra Dragons have today been unveiled as the Presenting Partner of the 2025 Healthier Illawarra Men (HIM) International Men’s Day Lunch, uniting two proud Illawarra institutions in a shared mission to strengthen men’s health, wellbeing and community connection.
The partnership was launched at the Dragons’ training base in Wollongong, with NRL stars Valentine Holmes and Ryan Couchman joining HIM Chair Mark Sleigh to mark the announcement.
Mr Sleigh said the partnership was a “game-changer” that will take the HIM message further than ever before.
“When it comes to leadership, community presence and values, the Dragons are a natural fit for Healthier Illawarra Men,” Mr Sleigh said.
“They’re more than a football club, they show up for their community and for each other. We’re proud to stand alongside them to drive real conversations about mental fitness, healthy relationships and breaking down stereotypes.”
Dragons CEO Tim Watsford said the club was proud to support the HIM campaign and saw the partnership as part of a broader responsibility to the region.
“The Illawarra is an integral part of our past, present and future. Our players, our fans and our families are all part of this community and we have a responsibility to help lead conversations that matter,” Mr Watsford said.
“Healthier Illawarra Men is doing incredible work to make that happen, and we’re honoured to be the Presenting Partner of this year’s event. Our players are already getting involved, and we’re committed to helping build momentum around this vital cause.”
The 2025 HIM International Men’s Day Lunch will take place on Friday 14 November at UOW Hall, with Sir Ian Botham as Guest of Honour and a crowd of over 500 guests expected.
